Pure Shea Store

This month, I am introducing you to a fellow entrepreneur, Chris Thigpen. This entrepreneur and farmer has proven there is life beyond corporate america. The Soapman a.k.a. Essentials, LLC operates Pure Shea Store online, and in person retail outlets. These stores feature soaps and skin care products manufactured by and for African-Americans and lovers of quality all natural products without GMO’s, parabens, animal products or other harmful ingredients. Chris has been operating since 1999, starting his family owned and operated business using family recipes from his relatives Pearlie and Dee Dee. While they have transitioned to heaven, their family traditions of making all natural soaps by hand live on through Chris and his family.

The Soapman has traveled the country via community marketplaces, farmers markets, festivals and conferences while operating a manufacturing facility from his South Carolina Farm and in several other manufacturing locations. Now under Pure Shea Store, Chris has several retail locations in Baltimore, Maryland, Detroit, Michigan, Washington, D.C and later this year Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If you attend summer festivals from the East Coast to the West Coast and across America, you’re likely to see Chris or a member of his team. As a regular user of Chris soaps and other products, I highly recommend them. Visit and place your orders at www.puresheastore.com.
